Revessa Villa
Clouds wisp over the wooded summits from your car window. The vehicles ahead disappear into blind turns and then are seen again on the side of the mountain.
And then you see it: Panchgani, a crisp-aired hilltown plotted for the British Raj’s convalescencing gentry and their trusty, evening strolls.
Past the town, your car twists and turns through a few more lonely roads, and you see a tall gate, with an elegant, A-frame roof peeking over it.
A two-storeyed villa lies in an intimate compound, walled and fenced on all sides. Inside, a well-manicured garden is populated with ferns, palms, and flowering eye-catchers like poinsettias.
