Villa Bouvardia
The Introduction
Coming south-west down the Jeremiah Gumb Highway, turn left and you are already upon a gated community of arcaded haciendas.
Shocking your sightlines in its apricot exteriors, Villa Bouvardia is one of the trio there, with a bevy of sun loungers around the pool area set to give you a chance to look over Anguilla’s palm-topped landscape.
The aqua green horizon opens up at the Carito and Elsie bays, just a short 5-minute walk from the villa.
Within the island’s intimate scale, you do not have to worry about how to get where you want to be.
Lie down and sip on a cocktail. Our in-house staff will mix you one up in no time.
The Space
The villa sits on higher ground, which permits cool sea breezes to swerve through arcades and windows.
A view of St. Martin also beckons.
Layout: The ground floor has two furnished bedrooms with an attached bathroom. There is a well-stocked kitchen, a dining room for four people, an enclosed office, and an entertainment area. The first floor has a furnished master bedroom with its own bathroom and sunbathing balcony. The compound has a patio and swimming pool area with barbeque facilities and sun loungers, and is bordered by fences on all sides.
Technology: Entertainment center, television, microwave, refrigerator, oven, cook top, air conditioners, dishwasher, and multi-jet shower.
What to Do
For hikers and picnickers: There are a host of landmarks such as Mount Fortune, Blowing Point, Little Dix, Cauls Pond, Shoal Bay Village, the Quarter, West End Village, and more.
For beachgoers and wave oglers: Corito Bay and Elsie Bay are just a 5-minute walk away. The whole circumference of the island is small enough to traverse in a day.
For the seafaring folk and water nymphs: Pristine, sand-barred coral reefs surround the island. You can even boat to the cays and smaller, uninhabited islands on the periphery.
For the wannabe archaeologists and anthropologists: Some heritage artifacts on the island are dated back to around 1300 BC. Fountain Cavern and Big Spring are two extensive petro glyph sites.
For the water riders: Anguillan culture prizes boat racing and sailing regattas. Check them out.
For gourmands: Seafood is diversified under several cuisines such as French Spanish, and Caribbean. Gorge on spiny lobster, prawns, shrimp, crab, red snappers, conch, mahi-mahi, marlin, and groupers.
For zoological buffs: Walk around and you’ll eventually come across Cuban tree frogs, red-footed tortoises, green iguanas, the Jamaican fruit bat, the insular single leaf bat, the Antillean fruit-eating bat, the Mexican funnel-eared bat, and the velvety free-tailed bat.
For the religious: With 15 churches on Anguilla, you will not be short on places of worship. There are also centers for Rastafarian religions and Islam.
